McTimoney Therapy is a gentle, yet highly effective whole body treatment for spinal and skeletal misalignment. Taught at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in the UK, it has been practised for over 40 years.This technique offers a gentle alternative to many forms of Chiropractic and Osteopathy. A welcome addition to our treatment options has been Koren Specific Technique. It is also a gentle approach to whole body adjustment. In McTimoney Holistic cracking and popping sounds are extremely unusual. This is because the the adjustments are highly specific, using speed and dexterity of delivery to correct misalignment, rather than a more vigorous approach. We also use a very gentle tapping instrument called Arthrostim. Consequently, the majority of patients find the treatment comfortable and pain free to receive. The entire skeleton is routinely assessed for misalignment to determine the true source of any pain symptoms. The pain experienced and the source of the pain are not necessarily the same. This can occur as a result of compensations automatically made by the body when alignment is lost. For example, it is not uncommon for symptoms in the back and the neck to originate from a misaligned pelvis. Our approach aims to correct the cause of the problem not just the symptoms. This allows your body to heal itself.
