General information

Battersby is a family owned funeral service with three generations of history behind it. Nancy (nee Firth) and Bill Battersby established the service in 1933 in Avondale and today it is owned and operated by Jennifer (nee Roseingrave) and Mark Battersby.

Mark took over the firm in 1983 and has over 30 years experience as a funeral director. Joined by his wife Jennifer, also a funeral director the couple provide a very personal service based on years of experience dealing with grieving families. There is not much they wouldn’t do for the deceased and their family and friends in their care.

Battersby is a well established and trusted name in funeral services in Auckland; synonymous with family values, compassion and professionalism. What Mark and Jennifer provide is more than just formality, it is part of the process of healing and celebrating a life in a genuine, reflective and respectful manner. For the dedicated couple it is about looking after all those involved and affected by the loss, family and friends.

The Battersby Funeral home is located on Great North Road, Avondale, Auckland. The chapel can cater for intimate services as well as larger gatherings. As well as viewing rooms the home has a reception lounge and offices. The home is peaceful and warm with a close family feel.
