G D Rutter Ltd was founded in 1930 by George Daniel Rutter, as an importing agent specialising in builder’s hardware. Three generations and 85 years later G D Rutter Ltd has grown to be one of New Zealand’s leading suppliers of door and cabinet hardware to the hardware trade under the Sylvan brand name.
Throughout the 85 years of business there has always been a strong family influence with the emphasis on customer satisfaction and product quality. Now G D Rutter Ltd is managed by the 3 grandsons of George Daniel, who have grown up with hardware products and being involved in the business from a very young age. This early involvement in hardware products has ensured that the leadership of G D Rutter Ltd has strong product and technical knowledge together with superior customer service these qualities sets our company apart from many other hardware suppliers in New Zealand.
Designing and sourcing products that suit New Zealands environment is a key aspect of the Sylvan brand. Our design and engineering team puts a great deal of effort into ensuring the products we supply meet New Zealands building standards and their intended purpose.
Commencing from July 2013 G D Rutter Limited has been appointed the official supplier of Iseo security products for the New Zealand market. Iseo - a leading brand of European security products produced in Italy provides G D Rutter Limited with an extensive range of security hardware products for the aluminium door and commercial security markets.
