International Baptist Church (IBC) was founded in 1984 by Pastor John Young. Pastor Young was a missionary with the Baptist Bible Fellowship International of the United States. He was Senior Pastor of IBC until 2005 when he felt led of the Lord to continue ministering in the USA. Pastor Ken Young has taken the leadership role since then.
Here are a few basic answers to common questions people ask:
- IBC is an Independent Baptist and not affiliated officially with the Baptist Union of NZ
- IBC is contemporary in its worship, although we are not a Pentecostal or Charismatic church
- Our emphasis is on the teaching and preaching of the Word of God
- We are fairly casual- our services are not fashion shows!
