Trinity Puppeteers

General information

The Trinity Puppeteers is a group of skilled puppeteers who present programmes on Christian, moral and ethical values in a dynamic, humourous way featuring song, dance and drama.
The group performs to all ages, at venues covering a wide area in Auckland and beyond, using large muppet-type human, animal and object puppets and various props.

They have travelled three times to the USA (in 1997, 2001 & 2006) to attend an International Christian Festival of Puppetry and Ventriloquism. There the group received standing ovations following their ‘blacklight’ performances in front of 500 people.

The services of the puppeteers are given free, and performances are developed to suit special events, age groups, community groups etc. Donations given for performances help cover the cost of props, to maintain equipment, and buy new puppets. Workshops and training sessions have also been held to help others wishing to start their own puppet team.

The group has been operating for over 20 years, and in that time a large number of young people and adults have become skilled puppeteers. At the moment there are approximately 15 in the group.
