Kayaks and dinghies are available to explore the lagoon and local islands. Special natural hot water pools are nearby - a year round experience to start the day. Massage services on site can easily be arranged to suit your needs.

Alternatively, from the Solitaire Lodge grounds, you can be transported to White Island, New Zealand’s active volcano by helicopter or enjoy the charm of a floatplane sightseeing trip. Lake walks are all accessible from our wharf, with a particular favourite of guests being that to the Tarawera Falls. Rotorua is 20 minutes drive and has become an adventure seekers destination, as well as the major cultural base for the Maori race with the natural thermal attractions playing a major role to attract visitors.
