General information

We deliver a Youth Guarantee Programme for young people aged between 16 and 19, where we offer an alternative environment in which to gain NCEA Level 1 and Level 2. We have places for up to 30 students and places become available as students achieve their qualifications so contact us for more information.

Alternatively, if you are a Work and Income client and you think you would enjoy caring for the older person, give us a call. This programme is funded by the Ministry of Social Development and is for Work and Income clients only. Study in a supportive environment, participate in practical, hands-on placements and have fun while you learn. Gain a valuable Level 2 New Zealand Certificate and a future… for free! The ultimate aim of this programme is to transition these students into employment.

Horizon Education is a Palmerston North-based training provider and a Tertiary Education Organisation, registered and accredited with NZQA. We have delivered government-funded education and training programmes (free to the students) in the Manawatu for over 20 years, chiefly for the Tertiary Education Commission and more recently for the Ministry of Social Development. Our programmes are free, full-time and designed to lead to either paid work or further training at a tertiary level.
