General information

The National School of Aesthetics (NaSA) has trained thousands of beauty therapists, nail technicians, and spa therapists in over 30 years of operation. It remains the oldest beauty therapy training establishment in the South Island. If you're serious about beauty therapy training, then train with NaSA, one of New Zealand's best NZQA-Registered beauty therapy training organisations.

We are a Category 1 NZQA tertiary education organisation. In 2013, NZQA awarded us the highest ratings in the highest category through their External Evaluation and Review, granting us "highly confident" in our educational outcomes and "highly confident" in our capacity in self-assessment. We remain the only South Island tertiary education organisation teaching beauty therapy to gain Category 1 with "highly confident" judgements in both areas.

Our owners Dr. Noel Turner and Mr. Don Kendall are both fully-qualified beauty therapists who opened the school back in 1985 and continue to work on campus to this day. In 2013, the New Zealand Association of Registered Beauty Therapists awarded Noel and Don the "Contribution to the Industry" award (like a "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the Oscars) for their ""significant contribution to the development of the beauty therapy industry in New Zealand." Unlike polytechnics, our students are able to see, talk to, interact with, learn from, and discuss relevant topics with our owners.

Over the last decade, approximately 92% of our graduates have studied further in the beauty therapy or related industries or have gained employment in the beauty therapy or related industries. Clinics throughout the South Island overwhelmingly prefer our graduates as they tend to have stronger skills and better knowledge.
