As an artist I have learned to be brave and adventurous in my art, to try new materials, techniques and combinations, to explore, experiment and have fun. As a result I have discovered there is no right or wrong way to do anything - just different techniques and processes!

I tend to challenge myself to produce pieces from supplies I already have on hand, often using unusual elements and recycling others. Creating my own backgrounds to work on by combining paper with fabric is a favourite of mine. Sometimes I have a yen for the traditional, and at other times I head for the contemporary. It is exciting to combine both - it often leads to something surprising. Above all I guess, I enjoy the surprises that come from experimenting and working with elements over which I do not have total control.
