Waikawa Dive Centre

General information

We started operating in 2012 when the last dive shop closed in Picton. To us living in a "diver's paradise" without a local dive shop...... just couldn't happen.

Today we can offer a comprehensive selection of dive equipment, services and expertise, to the diver, snorkeller, free diver or watersport enthusiast. We are also open all year round.

We offer Diver Training from no experience where you can have a go, usually takes 2 -3 hours, thru the stages of open water, advanced, rescue, O2 provider to Dive Master. All training is done utilizing the PADI training practises. We are a PADI Dive Centre.

We also have experienced local dive guides that can show you our beautiful Sounds. This could include wreck diving, Marine Reserve, fish feeding, photography, drift and most other diving activities.

We are an "Adventure Activity" approved operator and our dive vessel complies with the latest Maritime NZ requirements.

We have a fully-certified dive cylinder filling station, air and NITROX, and sell and service quality dive gear and accessories. We also service gear - regulators, BCDs, cylinder testing all done on site.

We are the area service and sales agent for Cressi, Beuchat, Atlantis, Faber, Catalina, Suunto, Atomic, Sherwood, Aqualung to name a few.

Forgot your gear? No worries we have a huge range of wet suits, regs, BCDs, cylinders and so on for rental. Best though to ring and book if you plan to come down in the January period.

Our dive vessel is the largest dedicated diving charter boat in the area. Very sea worthy it has a dry changing area, toilet, cooking facilities and plenty of shelter. Non-divers are welcome to accompany divers, space permitting. If our dive schedule doesn't fit yours, we can provide you with your own custom dive experience...just ask.

We also operate a non-profit, cost-sharing Dive Club for certified divers. Membership is free. It is a way for divers to meet and go diving if they don't have a buddy or boat.
