WHAT ARE SALVESTROLS?
Salvestrols are a sub-group of phytonutrients (plant derived compounds) essential for wellbeing that cannot be made in the body and must therefore be supplied through the diet. They have been identified in many fruits, herbs and vegetables.

Salvestrols work inside cells that have failed to behave like normal cells. Normal healthy cells stop dividing at the end of a natural life-cycle and dies. It has become clear that Salvestrols are used as part of the body’s natural cell cycle regulation. Research has shown that CYP1B1 appears only when needed and because it is not present in healthy cells, Salvestrols exert no effect on them. Salvestrols are a crucial part of a natural rescue mechanism and may be essential to good health.

The body finds Salvestrols so important they escape the first attempts of the liver to remove them; a process known as first-pass metabolism. Such is their importance that the human body holds on to these compounds for as long as possible. This characteristic inspired the scientists who discovered them to call them Salvestrols from the Latin word SALVE (to save).
