Tuakau Grain Complex

Tuakau Grain operates from their 104 Bollard Tuakau Grain Complex is where grain is received, dried and stored. The site consists of 20,000T of storage in silos, 40000T of shed storage capacity, a grain mill with a capacity of 10T/hr through the press and 20T per hour mixing capacity.

We also have retail sales of bagged and bulk products.

The Tuakau Grain Complex was acquired from Wrightsons in the late 1980’s. Since then additional storage silos have been added as has the ability to mill our own feed on site.

This site is also licensed with MAF as a transitional facility that can handle quarantine class 2 imported grains.

In 2000 the business expanded by importing a new Law Denis grain dryer from England. Additional silos were purchased from a grain silo complex in Fielding. This site was dismantled and reassembled in Tuakau.

We are now the largest privately NZ owned grain and drying complex in New Zealand. Our capacity full is approximately 20000 tonnes. We store primarily maize, barley and wheat.

"Wet" maize is brought in from surrounding districts and as far afield as the Bay of Plenty which is dried and stored under contract to the grain owners. Barley stored is generally from the South Island and Australia.
